The bare foothills of Burnside are quite biodiverse. Here is a sample of native plants you may see
Australian Hollyhock (Lavatera plebeia); spring, flowers sometimes pinkish
Drooping Sheoak (Allocasuarina verticillata); pollen producing spikes are rust coloured in spring
Australian Bindweed (Convolvulus erubescens); in spring
Kangaroo Grass (Themeda triandra); flowers quite bronze, may cover hillsides in summer
Spear Grasses (Stipa spp.); feathery tops in spring produce sharp, spiky seeds
Twiggy Daisy-bush (Olearia ramulosa); shrub with small daisy flowers
